The New Canaan Flag Fooball League is an program managed and run by New Canaan volunteer parents.  League rules and guidelines are set by the National Football League (NFL) as part of the NFL Flag program offered throughout the United States.  The New Canaan Flag Football League will offer two age restricted programs to New Canaan residents in the Fall of each year.

9-11 Age Division

Boys must be the required age of 9-11 on or before September 1 of the current year.  The larger of the two programs, this group will have two League Divisions:  American Conference and National Conference.      

12-14 Age Division 

Boys must be the required age of 12-14 on or before September 1 of the current year.  


Evaluation Day
All players must attend a mandatory evaluation day where you will be reviewed by the league coaches in skill exercises, agility and speed.  Each player will then receive a evaluation ranking for the coaches to use for the team draft selection.

Team Draft Selection
Coaches will meet following the evaluation day and draft their team by selecting players from the program using the player rankings.  The supervisors will manage a draft equal strength teams through special rules and guidelines.
